Any used cars for sale?

I just got a job at a convenience story working part-time at minimum wage so I don't have any money right now and I won't have enough for several months. I'm wondering if anyone has a car for sale or knows of a good car store in the garland/dallas area in texas. I'm only interested in hearing about cars that I would be able to afford. Preferably no more than $1,000.Any used cars for sale?
here you are

The only problem when you buy in that range - and I sympathize with your situation - is that unless you're a mechanic, you're going to be spending time with one pretty soon. Best chance is if you have a good friend/contact who has a car they'll let go for not much and you know the history of, but any car for under $1000 is going to be needing mechanical work.

As an alternative, look into ZipCar rentals - I don't know enough about it (haven't used it myself) but I guess you can rent cars for just two hours at a time or whatever you need, and it's perfect for people who don't need to own a car, can't afford to park a car (depending on where you live) but need a car SOMETIMES. Since you're in a major metro area, chances are that it's around. Then you can get decent enough transportation until you get to where you can buy a used car that won't need more in repairs than you paid for the car.

If you ARE going to insist on buying a car, then find a mechanic and make an appointment and give them $50 or whatever they charge per hour now and ask them to put it up on the rack and check it out BEFORE you buy the car. If the person you're buying from won't allow it to be checked out by a mechanic, then you probably don't want it anyway. And although you might not want to spend the $50, it's a lot cheaper than a $500 brake job two months later.
...
