Craigslist.org is free to post for sale ads in many large cities. Selling on your own can be a pain and time consuming but can get you a lot more than a trade-in price. Could be worth a couple thousand dollars. I've sold several cars of mine on my own and usually only had to wait a couple to 3 weeks at the most. Beware of goofballs and crooks that may want to joyride your car or steal it....go along on test drives and have family or neighbors know where you are. And don't accept anything for payment other than cash or cashiers check that can be immediately verified before turning over the title. State on the bill of sale paperwork that there is no guarantee and sale is final. Sign and date all copies with the exact time and have the buyer do so too in case they get parking tickets or an accident. Best bet is to find one in England or Holland, it's free to import a European registered American car over here if it is more than 30 yrs old, and doesn't cost much if it is between 10 and 30 yrs old.

im sure the owner of the car knows that its not just a fuse that is blown for the wiper motor.its probably the wiper motor itself that is shot.which could run close to a 100 dollar bill not including labor.as for the window not going down,im sure the owner has also had that checked and found out its not a cheap fix.it could be a bad motor that makes the window go up and down or even a switch.either way at at least 65 dollars per hour to find out what it is and fix it could cost a couple hundred bucks.also what bout the other things you don't know about yet that have issues.seems to me this car has seen it all and i bet if you buy it it will have more problems.so you either take the chance hoping its just what you have stated are the problems(which i doubt)or look else where.its your money.

I'm looking for a used car and I found one that's really cheap, low mileage and has nice features.
But mom is freaking out because it probably has a bad crash record.

Unless you have the ability to fix the several minor things that will be wrong with a salvage title car avoid it.
That said, 2 of the last 3 cars I have bought have been salvage title and I seek them out deliberately. I am fully capable of fixing the little stuff that was not fixed right. And I know how to evaluate the before picture to see how bad the car was damaged. But if you are not a good amateur mechanic avoid them. Because by the time you pay to fix the little crap, you will have not saved a lot of money. Or you will not fix the little stuff and the car will annoy the crap out of you.
As for insurance, mercury here in California has been fine with insuring them for me.
And if the car you found is on the internet and they want to ship the car to you fr approval, it is a scam.
Probably? You need to run a vehicle report on it and get it checked at a reputable shop before you buy no matter what car it is. If is one that has been wrecked it would be best to avoid it to minimize potential problems in the future.
